Imperial College London received 5 mln pounds sterling

This year Imperial College London has got state financing in the amount of 5 million pounds sterling for participation in solving global healthcare problems.

This became possible thanks to the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) established by the government of Great Britain in 2015. At the moment the fund resource is 1.5 billion pounds sterling and its aim is to search for solutions in the spheres of medicine, welfare, infrastructure and agricultural industry in the developed countries.

This Fund helps college researches and scientists together with members of other universities of Great Britain and third parties participate in six projects out of twenty seven ones, which are initiated by RCUK (Research Councils UK) program “Extending research capabilities”.

Activities will be carried out in order to engage solar energy in the sphere of agricultural industry in India, produce biopharmaceuticals in Thailand, improve medical care in the least developed countries, areas of military actions and refugee camps.
