An English physicist Stephen Hawking wrote his PhD thesis about the Universe and origin of the galaxy in the age of 23.
Public access to the thesis of Stephen Hawking was opened on October 23. It was published on the official website of Cambridge University and this information was posted in Twitter. The news has immediately spread worldwide and due to a huge number of visits the website “crashed” in few hours.
The dissertation was downloaded more than 60 thousand times during the first 12 hours. No one had expected such agiotage. Usually all scientific works have about 100 views a month on the university website.
Hawking explained his move as a desire to inspire people to new inventions and give them an opportunity to “look at stars and not down at their feet”.
Before becoming public online the dissertation was available only within the walls of a library of the Cambridge University or people could buy it for £65. And now Stephen Hawking’s PhD thesis is available using this link.
