According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine at the peak of admission campaign the following specializations are at the top of the list in terms of the amount of submitted applications: economics, law, tourism and international relations. They can be called the most classical fields of study, because the basics taught at these faculties are easily applied in practice in most demanding professions in Ukraine these days. What is more, popularity of the first two doesn’t fall down for a long time.
What is most interesting is that the tendency to acquire IT-profession in a state or private university didn’t increase much, although specialists in this area are in-demand in the entire world. Probably, the reason is a huge amount of specialized courses, online seminars and materials that let acquire quite a big list of IT-professions without assistance.
Those who are still hesitating about what specialization to choose should pay attention to logistics and human resources management. Demand for these majors is increasing in Ukraine and tendencies are quite promising. However, there are almost no professionals and this fact makes employers involve people with a diploma in the related fields of study.
Also it is expected that demand for such professions as architects, engineers, builders will increase. There is also a need for simple workers, whose salaries these days are even higher comparing to prestigious professions.
So, if due to some reasons you are not sure that you have a chance to get admitted to one of the most popular specializations based on competition results, it’s not late to change priorities and apply for less competitive field of study.
