A university for the elderly is going to open in Russia

A new project called “Silver University” for educating the metropolitan elderly is going to start up in the capital of Russia. The elderly have an opportunity to study in such learning center for free.

Once got admitted to the “university” the elderly will master computer skills, deal with mobile applications, learn English and legal literacy – all of this will help them increase their level of life.

The Government of the Russian Federation pointed out that the main idea of the project “Silver University” is to develop creative and modern life among the elderly.

Specialists have established the study program based on social interviews and monitoring of the range of interests of the elderly. The aged students will be able to choose the desired field of study: humanitarian, medical or arts.

Besides, the learning center will provide an opportunity to master the profession of a babysitter or a landscape architect, as well as learn how to do something with own hands.

At the end of the study period the elderly will get a certificate of the “Silver University”.
